San Bruno,
Calif.
– Google’s (NASD: GOOG) YouTube on
Thursday announced that it will begin automatically adding closed-captioning to
all English-language videos on its site, in a bid to improve accessibility. The
company’s auto-caption technology, which was introduced in November, combines
some of the speech-to-text algorithms from Google Voice Search to automatically
generated video captions when requested by a viewer.
