Washington
– The Congressional International Anti-Piracy Caucus on Wednesday released a
"list of notorious websites" it deems to be offering
"countless" unauthorized copyrighted works. The sites targeted by the
piracy watch list include China’s
Baidu, Canada’s
Isohunt, Ukraine’s
mp3fiesta, Germany’s RapidShare, Luxembourg’s
RMX4U.com and Sweden’s
The Pirate Bay.
The Caucus noted that "these sites are among the most
heavily visited websites worldwide."
Formed in 2003, and now counting 70
lawmakers as members, the Caucus — currently chaired by Sens. Sheldon
Whitehouse (D-R.I.) and Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), and Reps. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.)
and Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) — aims to bring greater attention to piracy issues
as they come before Congress.
