Century City,
Calif. – Redbox, the unit of
Coinstar (NASD: CSTR) that operates a growing network of DVD rental kiosks, is expected to
charge $1.50 per night to rent titles on Blu-ray, a premium over its $1 nightly
charge for standard DVDs, Home Media Magazine reports. Redbox president Mitch
Lowe made the remarks at a conference last week, noting that Blu-ray titles
will begin appearing in Redbox kiosks within the next few months.
