– Twitter now counts 190 million users, who are sending out 65 million tweets
each day, TechCrunch reported, citing figures provided by Twitter COO Dick
Costolo at the Conversational Media Summit. The company reported in April that
it counted 180 million unique visitors, while it said in February that users
were sending 50 million tweets per day.
Costolo added that some of the
advertisers testing the company’s new Promoted Tweets service are seeing
average engagement rates of 2.5%, based on the number of replies, retweets and
click-throughs the promotional tweets receive.
