Palo Alto, Calif. – Microsoft (NASD: MSFT) announced on Wednesday that it
has partnered with Facebook, and will begin displaying Facebook users’ friends’
recommendations in its Bing search results.

When a Facebook user search on Bing
or in Web results on Facebook — which are powered by Bing — friends’ faces
will appear next to Web pages they’ve liked.

In addition, people searches on
Bing will now provide results based on a user’s Facebook connections, meaning
those people with whom a users has mutual friends will show up first.

Bing will
also allow people to instantly add these people as friends on Facebook directly
from Bing.

Microsoft and Facebook plan to roll out the new feature in the U.S.
over the coming weeks.
