New York – Tumblr, the online publishing platform, has
raised $30 million in new financing from investors including Sequoia Capital, Spark
Capital and Union Square Ventures, according to a regulatory filing.
New
York-based Tumblr offers a platform that lets users easily create and publish mixed
media blog posts.
Tumblr blogs collectively registered a total of 1.7 billion
page views in August. The company tells TechCrunch it will use some of the
funds to hire additional talent.
