Yorktown Heights, N.Y. – IBM’s "Watson"
supercomputer has been pitted against "Jeopardy!" mega-winners Ken
Jennings and Brad Rutter, in a televised contest of wits that will award the
winner $1 million, the Associated Press reported. The IBM supercomputer has
been fed 200 million pages of encyclopedias, dictionaries, books, periodicals
and other content; the company told AP it "rivals a human’s ability to
answer questions posed in natural language with speed, accuracy and
confidence."
