Los Angeles – Producers of the movie "The
Expendables" have filed copyright infringement lawsuits against 6,500
users of the BitTorrent file-sharing network who allegedly downloaded the film,
TorrentFreak reports.

U.S. Copyright Group, a venture created by U.S. law firm
Dunlap, Grubb & Weaver, filed the suits on behalf of Nu Image against 6,500
"John Doe" defendants, whose identities will be sought via subpoenas
leveled at their respective ISPs.

USCG will likely then make settlement offers
to the alleged file-swappers, rather than commence with actual lawsuits. The firm is also handling the thousands of copyright claims against alleged downloaders of "The Hurt Locker."

TorrentFreak notes that "The Expendables" is still being downloaded
by a few thousand people every day.
