Los Angeles – Fourth Wall Studios, a developer of alternate
reality games, has raised $15 million in new funding from California Capital
Equity, VentureBeat reports.
Los Angeles-based Fourth Wall was co-founded in
2007 by Elan Lee, a developer who has worked on alternate reality titles like
the "ILoveBees" promotion preceding the launch of "Halo 2."
The company’s titles mix real-world elements with gaming, and utilize
computers, cell phones and real-world locations.
Fourth Wall plans to partner
with film, TV, video game and publishing firms over the next year for
additional titles.
