Los Angeles – Pay-TV network Showtime plans to remove early
seasons of "Dexter" and "Californication" from Netflix’s
Instant Streaming service by mid-year, Crain’s New York Business reported.
While the CBS-owned (NYSE: CBS) network streamed the season premieres of several of its series via
Netflix as recently as 2009, CEO Matthew Blank told Crain’s the company is
"more conscious of [the competition] now." "With all the options
out there, we want to be sure people know they have to subscribe to see
‘Dexter’ or ‘The Borgias.’"
