Los Angeles – Apple may be the new owner of foreboding Web
domain iCloud.com, which was recently purchased for about $4.5 million from
Swedish cloud storage service Xcerion, GigaOM reported, citing a source
familiar with the company.
Apple is reportedly working on a cloud-based storage
service for iTunes that would let users store their songs online and access
them from any Internet-connected device.
Recent reports suggested that two of
the four major record labels have signed on to the service.
GigaOM notes that
Apple could potentially have entirely different intentions for the iCloud.com
domain.
