San Francisco – Social games publisher Zynga announced on
Monday that it has hired two key contributors to the cocos2d for iPhone
open-source project, via the acquisition of certain assets of Sapus Media.

Financial
terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Ricardo Quesada and Rolando Abarca
will continue to support and contribute to the cocos2d for iPhone project,
which is used by developers creating mobile games for the iPhone, iPod touch,
iPad and Mac.

Zynga said it did not acquire the community site
cocos2d-iphone.org, which will continue to be managed separately.
