Washington – The chairman of the House oversight committee is seeking additional information from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) about the recent departure of commissioner Meredith Attwell Baker for a position at Comcast (NASD: CMCSA), The Wall Street Journal reported.
Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) sent a letter to FCC chair Julius Genachowski last week, seeking information about Baker’s move; many observers have noted that Baker had recently voted in favor of the $12.75 billion merger of Comcast and NBC Universal.
Issa stated that it did not appear that Baker violated any laws, but is seeking a briefing with the FCC so the public can “trust the integrity of the process.”
