Amsterdam, N.L. — Cloud9, a cloud-based app development startup based in Amsterdam, raised $5.5 million in their first round of funding from Atlassian Software and Accel Partners, the company announced Tuesday.
The company plans to use the funding for expanding their team to a new headquarters located in San Francisco, while consolidating their leadership to join a Service (DaaS) segment of the $8 billion app development market.
Cloud9 is a web-based programmer that allows developers to develop and run both mobile and web applications written for JavaScript and HTML5. The company also allows its developers to build, access, test, debug and share their projects.
