FilmOn.com Inc., which describes itself as the largest Internet-based high-definition television service, announced the launch of Football Anytime. Pricing has not been announced for the premium channel, which promises to deliver high quality streamed television live and post-live international soccer to mobile devices, computers, set-top boxes and connected televisions.
Through a partnership with Pitch International, which specializes in the representation of rights for sporting federations, clubs, rights holders and agencies for content worldwide across all media, FilmOn.com has licensed content from leading football match producers like the Premiership and the Football Association, IMG and other premium content providers.
“This is the first deal of its type for us,” said Pitch International spokesman Dave Seckington. “As the market leader we feel FilmOn is the right partner for us to venture out into the brave new world of Internet TV distribution.”
FilmOn.com is based in Frankfurt, Germany, and is operated independently by a British and U.S. management team with offices in Los Angeles, London and Dubai, and datacenters in San Diego, Amsterdam and Geneva. “We are very excited about adding Football Anytime to our lineup,” said FilmOn founder and CEO Alki David. “It is only right that the beautiful game plays out on our beautiful platform, whilst our iPod/iPad App continues to score big in the European App Charts.”
