LightSquared, the politically and technologically controversial 4G LTE wireless network operator working to launch in the U.S., signed a deal with wireless, wireline and IP carrier software specialist Evolving Systems Inc. to use the company’s Tertio Service Activation solution.
Tertio will provide LightSquared with a service activation and provisioning platform across all of its services, including LTE Data, LTE Voice, value added services and satellite. Evolving Systems said this will make it possible for LightSquared to manage the subscriber’s lifecycle through various states, add and remove services, and query status on demand in near-real-time.
“LightSquared’s go-to-market plan as well as their choice of LTE technology promises to reshape the competitive landscape in the U.S. by providing greatly enhanced connectivity options for people and devices,” said Thad Dupper, chairman and CEO at Evolving Systems. “We are very excited to be able to contribute to LightSquared’s vision and success,” he added.
Evolving Systems Inc.is a provider of software and services to 50 network operators in over 40 countries worldwide. Founded in 1985, the company has headquarters in Englewood, Colorado, with offices in the United Kingdom, India and Malaysia
