Two characters from Showtime’s comedy series House of Lies have broken out into Fridays at Galweather, an online video series that purports to document what they get up to when the show’s workweek ends.
Fridays at Galweather stars Ben Schwartz and Josh Lawson, who play Clyde Oberholt and Doug Guggenheim respectively on House of Lies. The web series is co-written by Schwartz and the Showtime series co-producer Wes Nickerson. The online shows are directed by Glynn Turman, who plays Jeremiah Kaan (father of Don Cheadle’s character Marty Kaan) on House of Lies.
The Showtime series is based on fictional management consultancy Galweather & Stearn, which has its own website. The online programs show Clyde and Doug taking their work a little too far, as they do things like examine the topic of sexual harassment, determine how to hire cost-effective adult entertainment, and figure out what to do when trapped in an elevator. Kristen Bell (who plays Jeannie Van Der Hooven) is set to appear in future webisodes.
House of Lies is based on the almost entirely satiric book by Martin Kihn, House of Lies: How Management Consultants Steal Your Watch and Then Tell You the Time. The show delivered 3.2 million viewers to-date in its first week (pending Live+7). House of Lies is created and executive produced by Matthew Carnahan, with Jessika Borsiczky, Stephen Hopkins and Don Cheadle also serving as executive producers.
