Toronto – Sports broadcaster Score Media announced on
Thursday that it has acquired SportsTap, a developer of mobile sports
applications.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Founded in 2007, SportsTap
develops mobile apps similar to Score Media’s ScoreMobile.
The company said
that the combined monthly audience of ScoreMobile and SportsTap would rank
third behind ESPN and Yahoo, in comScore’s MobiLens report form March 2011.
Toronto-based
Score will operate SportsTap as a stand-alone application.
