Silicon Valley venture capital firm Foundation Capital has promoted Ashu Garg to general partner. He currently serves on the board of directors of Aggregate Knowledge, Agni Property, Aspire Human Capital Management, Conviva, TreeHouse and TubeMogul.
Garg’s primary interests are in advertising infrastructure, online video, cloud based analytics, and consumer services in India, but his portfolio is not limited to those areas.
Garg previously was a general manager with Microsoft’s On-Line Services business, where he was responsible for strategy and business management for the Digital Advertising Solutions Business Group. Before that he was at McKinsey & Co., where he worked with mid-sized digital media, software and consumer services companies. While at McKinsey, Garg worked closely with NASSCOM, industry association for the information technology and business process outsourcing sector in India, and co-founded Indian online services startup Aptech Internet.
