Sony Pictures Entertainment is seeking a VP, Creative Technologist & VFX to lead creative technology and visual innovation within Torchlight, its advanced production and innovation organization, in Culver City, CA. This executive will partner with filmmakers, showrunners, producers, studio executives, and engineering teams to integrate emerging technologies into film, television, animation, and marketing productions. Responsibilities include shaping creative technology strategy, advancing visual effects and virtual production workflows, developing production-ready applications of artificial intelligence and machine learning, prototyping new image-creation tools, and building partnerships with VFX studios and technology companies. The ideal candidate brings 25+ years of leadership and hands-on experience in visual effects, animation, and digital production, including at least 10 years as a VFX Supervisor or On-Set VFX Supervisor on major feature films and 10 years developing and deploying machine learning for professional media production. Candidates should also have extensive experience in virtual production, strong software engineering and pipeline knowledge, and a record of technical innovation and industry recognition, such as a Visual Effects Society award or comparable honor. The position offers an anticipated base salary of $238,400–$298,000 annually, with potential annual incentives and comprehensive benefits.
