Berkeley, Calif. – Godengo, a Berkeley-based provider of online products and digital advertising platforms for publishers, has raised $6.8 million in a venture capital round that could eventually reach $9 million, the company disclosed in a new filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The company merged two months ago with Texterity, a Massachusetts-based provider of digital and mobile publishing services.

The combined company now provides services to around 1,200 magazine titles owned by over 500 publishers throughout theU.S., Canada, andAustralia.

Godengo also helps publishers transition and enhance their content across multiple digital and mobile platforms. New Science Ventures is one of Godengo’s main investors.
