Redwood Shores, Calif. – Oracle, the Redwood Shores-based back-office software giant, has signed a deal to acquire Involver, developer of a social marketing platform, the San Francisco-based firm announced on its website.

Financial terms of the deal, expected to close later this summer, were not disclosed.

“Our technology is expected to extend Oracle’s social platform to help customers more easily and cost-effectively collaborate and build engaging applications and social experiences across social networks and the Open Graph,” Involver wrote on its blog.

Involver said its management and employees will join Oracle.
