Los Angeles – Days before its official release, video game publisher
Electronic Arts’ (NASD: ERTS) "Mass Effect 2" was uploaded to file-sharing
networks and has since been downloaded over 300,000 times, TorrentFreak
reports.

Set for release on Tuesday in North America,
both the PC and Xbox 360 versions of the BioWare-developed game are said to
have appeared on BitTorrent last Thursday.

TorrentFreak noted that those
downloading the game will not receive a network card that comes with the retail
version, which is required to download in-game items and new missions — but
added that the game can be played without it.
