Espoo, Finland – Nokia (NYSE: NOK) announced on Friday
that it will acquire Novarra, the developer of a mobile Web browser and service
platform.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in
1999, Chicago-based Novarra has raised more than $50 million in funding to date.

Nokia said that Novarra’s mobile browser and services platform will be used to
deliver enhanced Internet experiences on Nokia mobile devices.
