Redmond,
Wash.
– Former News Corp. (NYSE: NWS)
president Peter Chernin and Microsoft (NASD: MSFT) have held talks on creating a dedicated
TV channel for the Xbox 360 video game console, Bloomberg reported, citing two
people with knowledge of the proposal.

The channel would reportedly be jointly
owned by Chernin and Microsoft, and offer both original programming and reruns
to Xbox Live subscribers for a monthly fee of $1 or $2.

Currently, Microsoft
offers a range of downloadable and streaming content to the Xbox 360, including
content from Netflix.
