San Jose,
Calif. – SoundHound, the provider
of a music recognition service, on Tuesday launched a new, free version of its
mobile application for Apple’s iPhone. The free version of the application,
which can identify songs both from a speaker and tunes sung or hummed by a
user, allows five music searches per month. The SoundHound Infinity paid app,
which comes without usage restrictions, costs $4.99.
