Google (NASD: GOOG) plans to begin selling e-books as early as this summer from a new
service called Google Editions, The Wall Street Journal reported. The service
will let consumers purchase current and backlist titles for reading across a
range of devices, while publishers will be able to set up versions of Google
Editions on their sites, and retain the "bulk of the revenue" from
sales. The Journal notes that publishers have yet to commit publicly to
participating in the service.
