Mountain View,
Calif. –
Google (NASD: GOOG) said on Thursday
that it has acquired the assets of Simplify Media, the provider of a
media-sharing application.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Simplify
Media’s technology lets users share songs, photos and other media, including
iTunes-based media, across various platforms.

The company recently pulled its
iPhone application from the App Store, and noted it would not be accepting new
accounts.

Google plans to integrate Simplify’s technology into a desktop
application that will allow users to access their media on Android devices
remotely.
