New York
– Business publisher Forbes announced on Tuesday that it will acquire
True/Slant, an online freelance journalism venture, for an undisclosed sum.

Launched in April 2009, True/Slant raised $3 million in venture capital
financing, and counted 1.5 million unique users in May.

The site was founded by
Lewis Dvorkin, who served as executive editor of Forbes magazine in the late
90’s.

Dvorkin will lead all editorial areas at Forbes as chief product officer,
charged with re-designing both the magazine and Forbes.com website.

"These
times demand new models for delivering information and engaging audiences and
for the ways we run our business," said Forbes president and COO Tim
Forbes.

"Lewis Dvorkin, a seasoned journalist (including a previous stint
with Forbes), a business entrepreneur and founder of True/Slant, and a social
media pioneer is the ideal leader for Forbes editorial vision and products at this
stage."
