New York
– Fox’s (NYSE: NWS) "Glee" has so far driven sales of more than 7.3 million song
downloads, including 2.5 million in the past six weeks alone, according to
Nielsen.

The second season of the music-themed show debuted in April.

"Showstoppers," a compilation album of songs performed on the show,
was the top-selling album this week, when digital sales of all Glee-related
songs topped 500,000.

"This is an interesting and vibrant time for the
entertainment industry, music in particular, with the top four albums this week
outselling last week’s number one," said Nielsen Entertainment president Eric
Weinberg.

"We continue to see solid consumer demand for digital music
sales, including full-length albums, with more than 40% of this week’s best
selling album purchased digitally."
