San Francisco
– Twitter announced on Thursday that it has acquired Smallthought Systems, a
provider of Web analytics services.

Financial terms of the deal were not
disclosed.

Twitter said it had previously used the company’s Dabble DB online
database to track and share information about internal projects, and also uses
Smallthought’s Trendly analytics tool.

The Smallthought team
"will focus on integrating ideas from Trendly into our current tools and
building innovative realtime products for our future commercial partners," Twitter said in a blog post.
