San Francisco – Facebook made "tens of millions"
of profit last year, with revenues estimated at nearly $800 million, Reuters
reports, citing two sources familiar with the situation. The figures are
significantly higher than prior estimates — board member Marc Andreessen
pegged last July pegged revenues at $500 million, while projections made in
media reports reached as high as $700 million.

"They are downplaying their
performance," remarked one of Reuters’ sources.

"There’s no upside in getting people’s expectations high, it’s
always better to go low,"
