Sunnyvale,
Calif. – RGB Networks, a provider
of network video processing services, announced on Wednesday that it has
acquired RipCode, a developer of mobile video technology.
Financial terms of
the deal were not disclosed.
"With the integration of RipCode’s mobile
delivery technology into our modular, high-density Video Multiprocessing
Gateway, RGB can offer a unified content delivery solution for TV, PCs and
mobile in a scalable, carrier-class platform," said RGB chief executive Jef
Graham.
"We are already seeing tremendous interest in our multi-function
VMG, and this bold move quickly takes our capabilities to the next level,
providing a unique solution that directly satisfies our customers’ requirements
for three screen delivery."
RGB said it will retain nearly all of
RipCode’s employees, who will continue to operate out of the company’s offices
in Austin, Texas.

I have been disappointed by the channel by channel disparity in color I presently see. Although my television set may be in need of an adjustment, when I see a television show do a picture in picture segment, and I clearly see one of the images is much greener than the other picture right next to it, which is redder, and neither match up to the live-feed, I know there are problems elsewhere in the television distribution chain.
