– Continuing its recent selling spree, AOL (NYSE: AOL) has sold Texas-based online research
firm DMS Insights to California-based online panel company uSamp.
Financial
terms of the deal were not disclosed.
In recent months, AOL also has sold its
Bebo social network, ICQ instant messaging service and affiliate marketing firm
Buy.at.
DMS, also known
as Digital Marketing Services, is the developer of its own online sampling
method, as well as a portal for random, real-time recruitment of survey
respondents.
AOL will remain a partner of DMS Insights, as well as a sampling
and research client.
"This is a merging of two companies with similar
visions for serving market research, and we’re thrilled to bring DMS Insights
on board," said Matt Dusig, co-founder and CEO of uSamp.
