San Diego – MP3tunes, the digital music locker service run
by MP3.com founder Michael Robertson, on Monday launched a new feature that
offers cable-free syncing of music between Apple (NASD: AAPL) and Google (NASD: GOOG) devices. The
"Buy Anywhere, Listen Everywhere" feature will let users who buy
songs from Android handsets listen to the purchased tracks from an iPod touch,
while songs purchased from the iTunes Store can be played on Android phones. "Apple
wants to lock you into their store and devices," said Michael Robertson,
founder and CEO of MP3tunes. "But what’s best for consumer is to be able
to shop at any store and use it with any device."
