Burbank, Calif. – Netflix (NASD: NFLX) announced on Thursday that it has
expanded its deal with Warner Bros. to provide content for its Instant
Streaming feature, which lets users stream TV episodes and movies from the
company’s website to a computer or television.
The pact extends Netflix’s
rights to stream Warner movie titles through 2011, and includes a four-year
deal for streaming rights to the TV series "Nip/Tuck."
Netflix also
acquired streaming rights to Warner-produced series including "Veronica
Mars," "Pushing Daisies" and "Terminator: The Sarah Connor
Chronicles."
Earlier this year, Netflix agreed to new terms which will
delay the release of Warner titles on DVD and Blu-ray until 28 days after they
become available for purchase in stores.
