Los Angeles – News Corp.’s (NYSE: NWS) MySpace online social network has
acquired the assets and employees of Threadbox, the provider of a social
messaging service, VentureBeat reported.

Financial terms of the deal were not
disclosed.

Founded in 2008, Palo Alto, Calif.-based Threadbox offers a social
messaging service that aims to replace email and instant messaging with a
"thread-focused" system.

The company has raised $2 million to date
from Venrock and angel investors.
