Washington – On the second anniversary of its launch,
SnagFilms, the documentary film site founded by former AOL vice chairman Ted
Leonsis, on Monday announced a major expansion of its film distribution,
including new video-on-demand offerings with Comcast and Verizon FiOS. In
addition, the company plans to make certain films available for purchase on
iTunes and rental on YouTube’s premium channel, distribute films through mobile
phone carriers and extend its library to Internet-connected TVs, Blu-ray
players, gaming consoles and set-top boxes this fall.
