Los Angeles – Japanese video game publisher Square Enix on
Thursday announced plans to launch a digital manga store in North America and
France this fall. The company currently releases manga titles — including
"Fullmetal Alchemist" and "Soul Eater" — in 20 countries
through partnerships with local publishers. The company also announced that it
named Mike Fischer as president and CEO of U.S.-based Square Enix, Inc.
Fischer, a twenty-year veteran of the game business, was most recently
Microsoft’s consumer and online market officer in the U.K., and previously had
stints at Sega and Namco.
