New York – Philo, the developer of a social television
platform, announced on Wednesday that it has raised an undisclosed sum of
financing, from investors including North Bridge Venture Partners and DFJ
Gotham Ventures.

New York-based Philo also launched its social TV Web
application on Wednesday, in addition to a new version of its application for
the iPhone and iPod touch, which now supports check-in to time-shifted TV
content.

Philo’s service lets users share which programs they are watching in
real-time with friends, comment, win awards and earn credits.
