New York – AOL (NYSE: AOL) and online social network Facebook are in
discussions about a possible advertising partnership, the New York Post
reported on Wednesday.

The paper said that the talks, between AOL CEO Tim
Armstrong and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, have quietly been ongoing for
several months.

Under the proposal, AOL reportedly would give Facebook help in
selling ads, with AOL possibly becoming the "preferred media partner"
of Facebook, which now boasts 500 million users.

Both companies declined to
comment.
