Hong Kong – E-commerce firm Alibaba.com announced on
Wednesday that it will acquire Auctiva, a provider of third-party developer
tools for eBay sellers.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded
in 1998, Auctiva provides listing, marketing and management tools, and image
hosting services to over 170,000 eBay sellers, and also operates an online
storefront product and cashback rebate loyalty program.
"Through its
recent acquisitions, Alibaba.com is building the world’s first global
e-commerce supply chain," the company said.
"This end-to-end network
connecting manufacturers and wholesalers with e-tailers and consumers will
allow small businesses to easily source from suppliers all over the world, then
conveniently manage and sell those products through popular online channels
like eBay, Amazon, their own online storefronts and more."
