Waterloo, Ontario – Google (NASD: GOOG) has acquired SocialDeck, a
developer of social games for mobile devices, according to a note on the
company’s website.

"We’re super excited to announce that someone found our
social games as fun as you have — in this case, that ‘someone’ is
Google," reads the note.

"SocialDeck has been acquired and we’ve
joined the Google team."

Founded in 2008, Waterloo, Canada-based
SocialDeck has so far launched several title for iPhone, Facebook and
BlackBerry.

The company raised a first round of financing last year led by
BlackBerry Partners Fund.

Google also recently also acquired social
applications and games developer Slide, and virtual currency firm Jambool.
