Toronto – Kobo, the developer of an e-book platform, on Wednesday
released a free desktop application that lets users purchase and read e-books
from their computer or laptop. The company said the Kobo Desktop Application
also lets users with third-party readers like the Sony Reader to connect to its
service to download and purchase content. Kobo also offers dedicated e-reader
applications for the iPhone, iPad, BlackBerry and Android platforms.
