San Bruno, Calif. – The first reviews of YouTube’s test of
an in-house live streaming video service were mixed, with NewTeeVee calling it
"not ready for primetime," and reports from Wired, Gizmodo and others
noting issues with video quality and choppiness. NewTeeVee noted that previous
YouTube experiments with live video streaming, such as the State of the Union
address or Indian cricket matches, relied on third-party content delivery
networks for help.
