New York – Facebook is in discussions with Microsoft (NASD: MSFT) on
significantly expanding their search partnership, All Things D reported, citing
sources.

The two companies signed a deal a year ago that gave Bing the ability
to index public status updates from Facebook.

An expanded partnership could
give Microsoft’s Bing search engine the ability to mine anonymous data from
usage of Facebook’s ‘Like’ button.

Such a feature would reportedly only include
information Facebook users have chosen to make public, sources told All Things
D.
