Los Angeles – Diaspora, the open-source, privacy-minded
social network project, has released its first set of code to the developer
community. In a blog post, the team behind Diaspora said the release includes
the ability to share status messages and photos privately; friend people across
the Internet; and upload photos and albums. All traffic is signed and
encrypted, except photos. The next code release in October is expected to
include Facebook integration, internationalization and data portability
features.
