Chiba, Japan – Sony (NYSE: SNE) plans to release a software update for
its PlayStation 3 video game console next week that will support playback of 3D
video content and games, the Associated Press reported. Sony noted that the
PlayStation 3’s Blu-ray player will handle 3D movies fine, but "some parts
of the menu and other minor portions of some DVDs" will display in 2D.
