Woodstock, Vt. – Green Mountain Digital (GMD), a digital
media publisher of nature and wildlife field guides, on Thursday that it has
raised $1.5 million in its first round of venture capital.

Vermont-based GMD’s
apps combine content from some major brands and are available on the iPhone,
iPod touch, iPad, and Android platforms.

In alliance with the National Audubon
Society, GMD launched its first product, Audubon Birds: A Field Guide to North
America Birds in October 2009, followed by 27 other Audubon branded titles.

Most recently, GMD partnered with the Orvis Co. to launch Orvis Fly Fishing:
The Ultimate Fly Fishing Guide. The company said its sales have been growing
