Santa Monica, Calif. – Video game publisher Activision (NASD: ATVI) said
on Thursday that its "Call of Duty: Black Ops" game has set a new
five-day entertainment industry record with more than $650 million in sales.
The previous record was $550 million, set last year by "Call of Duty:
Modern Warfare 2." The game has also set records on Xbox Live, the online
gaming platform for Microsoft’s Xbox 360, where 5.9 million multiplayer hours
were logged and 2.6 million unique gamers played Black Ops on a single day.
